How many of us look back and see snapshots or postcards of where we have been? For some it is a look at what was given up when they had a child. For others, its a look at where they have been and where they are going. I love looking at my postcards and seeing the many places I was able to go and the things I have been able to see. I hope that I can show these things to my son someday.
The road we take is not straight and even by any means. Its how we walk it that counts. If you look at every hill and sigh, perhaps you need to look at the road a little closer and perhaps turn onto a new one. For me, the road is uncertain, but I am enjoying every moment of the adventure. I have postcards from around the world, a dream job, and dreams that I have the chance to make reality. I couldn’t wish for better. In fact, I wish this for every other mother, daughter, son, father, or grandparent. To be at peace with what has passed and what is still to come.
Make life what you want. Look to your dreams for inspiration, just don’t live in the dream. Reality is much nicer when you are an active participant. May the world come to terms with itself and each of us find a way to live our lives to their fullest.
